The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) conducted an Investor Awareness Session for students of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), aiming to promote financial literacy and introduce young people to Pakistan’s capital market.
The session focused on the importance of investing in the stock market and the pivotal role played by PSX in Pakistan’s economy. Students were introduced to the fundamentals of financial planning, savings and investment, the functioning of the stock exchange, and various asset classes available to investors in Pakistan.
Participants also learned about the benefits of investing through PSX and the process of stock trading. The session provided guidance on using the official PSX website, its Data Portal, and the My Portfolio virtual trading platform to explore market information and gain practical exposure to investment activities.
An interactive question-and-answer session was held at the conclusion of the programme, allowing students to seek guidance on investment strategies and the functioning of Pakistan’s capital markets.
The discussion covered both primary and secondary markets, helping participants understand how companies raise capital and how securities are traded among investors.
The initiative reflects the importance of investor education in developing informed financial decision-making among young people and encouraging greater awareness of investment opportunities in Pakistan.
By engaging university students, PSX aims to strengthen financial literacy and familiarise the next generation with the country's capital market and its role in economic development.
